KCC Mental Health Commissioning Update January/ February 2012
Restructure in Kent County Council
á A review is now underway of Strategic Commissioning in Families and Social Care, which will affect how the mental health commissioning and contracting team will operate in the future.
á We will have further information about this in the Spring/Summer 2012.
á The current proposal is for the mental health commissioning and contracting team to move into the greater strategic commissioning team, which will be organised into 3 categories: A single category for Children, and Adults will be structured into 2 further categories; Accommodation Solutions and Community Support.
á The 3 categories will operate as One Strategic Commissioning Team.
Mental Health Contracting and Commissioning Team members updates
á Tracy Hepburn is continuing to work with KMPT and the Professional Assurance Team on the new charging policy.
á The new charging policy is likely to be in place 2012.
á Navdeep Sadhra temporary Senior Administration Officer, will be covering Tracy HepburnÕs admin work until the end of February 2012.
Changes to Community Support Services, Supported Accommodation and Supported Living Contracts
KCC is reviewing the way we purchase the above services and are looking at bringing these contracts together, to become one service and will be known as the ÔSupporting Independence ServiceÕ (SIS). We anticipate it going out to tender in the Spring 2012.
Currently there are different purchasing arrangements for these services and are looking to create one specification and purchasing method to cover each service within the community, aimed at promoting and assisting people to gain independence. The new SIS service will cover adults with mental health needs, amongst other client groups.
