Restructure in Kent County Council

Kent County Council are still restructuring:

• Mark Lobban from Hertfordshire has been appointed as director of strategic commissioning and will begin in post from September 2011

• Margaret Howard Director of Learning Disabilities and Mental Health is due to retire in October and recruitment is currently underway for her replacement – an announcement is due in the next few weeks

Charging Consultation

Kent County Council are currently undertaking a consultation on charges for adult social care – this consultation will close on the 31^st July 2011 –have your say here

KCC Families and Social Care Contract Re-Lets

The following contracts still planned to be re let over the coming year:

• Carers Support
• Carers Assessments
• CSS – this is the Community Support Service, in which the worker supports the person with elements on their support plan. 

and in the following year Advocacy

These re-lets are not just for Mental Health but include other areas i.e. Learning Disability

In future Kent County Council will be advertising these, and all other business opportunities through the South East Business Portal we strongly suggest that all providers register on the South East Business Portal.
