LPMG September Update
KCC Appointment Update
Penny Southern has been appointed as the interim Director of Learning Disability and Mental Health and will be in post from on 22 August, this allows for a period of handover before Margaret Howard retires from KCC.
Andrew Ireland has been appointed as Corporate Director, Families and Social Care so he is Oliver MillŐs replacement. Andrew joins from the London Borough of Havering where he was Group Director of Social Care and Learning. Before moving to Havering, Andrew Ireland he spent nearly 20 years at Kent County Council working in both adult and childrenŐs social services. Andrew will be joining us at the beginning of November and Malcolm Newsam will continue as interim director until this time.
Mark Lobban has been appointed Director of Strategic Commissioning and will be joining us on 5 September. Mark has a strong commissioning background and is currently Assistant Director for Community Commissioning for Hertfordshire County Council.
CSS Re-let Update
The Community Support Service (external) re-let has now been delayed by 6 months to October 2012. CSS will be re-let under the new name of Supporting Independence Service (SIS)
South East Business Portal for all Kent County Council contract re-lets and provider events.
In future Kent County Council will be advertising all business opportunities (e.g. contracts / grants / provider meetings and information) through the South East Business Portal all providers will need to be registered to hear about any business opportunities to register go to this link: www.businessportal.southeastiep.gov.uk .

Live It Well Website Re-Launch – date for your diary
The Live It Well website is being re – launched on the afternoon of 10th October which is World Mental Health Day. It will be in the Gallery at Sessions House in Maidstone in the afternoon, invitations will be circulated soon.
